Scotland is a global leader in developing renewable energy. A big part of achieving a net zero economy relies on advances in technology and innovation. Research shows that diverse teams are more likely to be innovative.
Full Circle 21 has been set up to support the renewables industry in Scotland to progress to a gender and ethnically balanced workforce by providing practical support to address three main pillars:
• Working closely with universities to promote the industry to underrepresented groups (e.g., girls and ethnic minority groups).
• Providing opportunities for underrepresented groups already in the industry to acquire skills that will facilitate career progression e.g., presentation skills, coaching support, access to a wide network of allies.
• Providing a network for buddies/allies to share open and honest conversations and ideas. Allowing everyone to learn more about the lived experiences of underrepresented groups.
In addition, Full Circle 21 will share job opportunities to attract more diverse talent into the industry and stop leakage out of the industry. A supportive environment for those looking to return after time out of work.
Full Circle 21 is a 'safe place' for underrepresented groups in the renewables industry to ask questions, share experiences and encourage others in a positive and encouraging way.
Members will have access to free training and support on a range of topics to help support career progression in the industry.
We are all in this together. We are stronger together.
